Importance of Resume
Your resume is a key to enter in an interview
chamber. It predicts that how well you can perform in the desired job.
It is the first meeting between you and the employer.
TYPES OF RESUME
Following are the different types of resumes :-
a) Curriculum Vitae:- A CV is expected to include a
comprehensive list of professional history including every term of
employment, academic credential, publication, contribution or
significant achievement. It may include samples of the person's work
and may run to many pages.
b) Combination resume:- This type of resume
balances the functional & chronological approaches, includes list of
hob skills followed by a chronological list of employers.
c) Functional resume:- This type of resume
directly focus on specific professional capabilities and utilizes most
recent experience listed first. Tips For Making a Result Oriented Resume
A good quality resume can create a huge difference. There are some tips which should consider while making a resume :-
a) Try to complete your resume in 1 page. You can go to another page if it is inevitable.
b) Print only at one side of the page.
c) The font size should 10 to 14.
d) It should have laser or high quality printout.
e) Use A4 size white paper.
f) Send your resume in large envelope.
Contents of Resume
Your resume should be focused on the company's
needs. Your resume should convey that you are the perfect candidate for
the job. For every single post there should be a different resume.
a) Name, Address, Telephone, E-mail address
b) Objective:- It should kept short as possible. It summarizes your skills and emphasizes your strengths for a particular job.
c) Work Experience:- If you have work experience,
list it in reverse chronological order, and must include the company
title, location, time frame of work there, responsibilities and
projects.
d) Education:- Add most recent educational information first. Mention the percentage and the year of passing.
e) Strengths:- Tell about your positive points & list them.
f) Other Skills and Activities:- It includes
hobbies & interests, accomplishments, leadership activities,
publications/presentations.
g) Personal Profile:- Your personal profile
includes name,father's name, date of birth, marital status,nationality,
address and contact number.
h) Languages Known:-Mark your Fluency in speaking, writing and reading different languages.
i) References:- It is not mandatory to mention references, if you have any references may add at the bottom.
